A few spots of rain but not enough to dampen our readiness for a good days shooting.

A couple of testing stands, with the little curling incomer on stand nine being mentioned in despatches. I and a couple of others on our squad found stand 5, immediatly behind the café de Val, a tester.

The cream rose to the top again this week by giving Geoff Pomroy the top scratch score with 79 shattered clays. Len was runner up, trailing 5 targets behind leaving Sean Malony, a squad newcomer, in third place with 68 kills. Top Handicapper was Aziz Al Redha who beat his average by 2.3%. Aziz is a succesful jockey in his native Dubai but chooses to join us during our more moderate English summers. I tell everyone that his enjoyment of clay shooting is of nothing compared to his desire to learn how to swear with a perfect black country dialect. On that subject, Len was handicap runner up with Geoff Pomroy just beating Sue Small into handicap third place. An interesting and most agreeable course this week.
