Scores for August 26th

Some great scores again, with 4 shooters beating their average by over 9 targets. (I may be wrong as a less taxing set of targets would achieve a similar result, but I know Becky wouldn’t do that).

As if to emphasise my comments from last week, Geoff Pomroy excelled again and put in his best score of 2026. His 91 hits out of 100 easily took the scratch top score. Tony Gray took the runner up spot with another high score. His 78 was just three behind his own years’ best. Steve Honner took the scratch bronze position with 73 broken clays. Top Handicap score was returned by the mighty 28g of John Griffiths. His 72% was his best score this year and beat his average by over 13 points. Well done John. Geoff’s 91 was over 11 points better than his average and gave him a well-earned Handicap runner-up spot. Tony Gray’s score would have easily taken the gold spot on an average week, but this week’s results left his clear 9-point improvement languishing in 3rd place on the Handicap scale. All in all, though, a great day’s shooting.
