Scores August 12th

The scores from the afternoon squad were accompanied by a gloomy faced emoji so I guess the sender, John Griffiths, had a stressful afternoon.

Tony Gray, the top scratch scorer of the day and one of John’s squad, certainly did not. His 79 with a 20g, was just two targets off his best of the year and beat Geoff Pomroy’s runner-up score by 3 hits. Great shooting Tony.

Simon Honeybourne took third place with 69 broken clays. Tony’s handicap score beat his average by over 10 points and gave him the Handicap Gold medal. Kit Taylor was just 1 point behind his best score this year and less than 4 points behind Tony on the Handicap challenge. His excellent result gave him the handicap 2nd place proved that a few weeks absence from the ground need not automatically diminish your marksmanship.

Drew Beaumont took third place on the Handicap scale with a fine score that beat his own average by over three and a half points. All in all, a very fine set of results from most of each squad.
