Scores July 15th

Apologies for the late results and commentary last week. I had no internet connection in Padstow harbour, and my phone refused to hook up with my laptop, leaving me swearing and cursing for several hours. In the end, I managed to ‘borrow’ another boater’s connection and get them off around midday. I’m back home now, so no problems getting them downloaded this week, however, the scores returned suggested there were some significant problems with the targets.

Only one shooter managed to beat his average. Top scratch score was returned by Jonathan Skelding, whose 68 kills were over 5 points behind his average. Runner-up, with 61 broken clays was Aziz Al Redha, A good result, but it missed his own average by nearly 4 points. Third place on the scratch scoreboard was Steve Honner, who returned 58 kills. This, I believe, was his worst score ever at S.W. Handicap top spot was won by Alan Bailey who beat his average by just under half a point but in doing so beat everyone else by over 5 points. A super clear-cut result Alan. Keep it up.

Aziz was runner-up, 5 points behind Alan, with Jonathan Skelding taking the handicap bronze place with a result just two points behind Aziz’s but over 5 points below his average. If this were a school report, it would be saying,’ You could all do better, ladies and gentlemen’.
