Best shooting weather yet, almost a summer’s day.
Another excellent layout with some tricky targets on a heavily modified course. Some super scores came in. Geoff Pomroy continued to give us all a free shooting lesson, missing only 10 targets all day and recording his best score this year. Geoff’s 90 breaks easily took the Gold medal position on the scratch scoring scale. Tony Gray’s 81 was an excellent second place and Tony’s best score this year. Jonathan Skelding was just a single target behind to take the third place. Top Handicap position was taken by John Griffith’s mighty 28g that powered it’s trigger man to match his best score this year. John’s 72% of broken targets was over 13 points better than his average. Tony Gray was just a fraction of a point behind, leaving Geoff’ Pomroy in third place on the Handicap scale. A great day’s shooting.

A repeat of last week’s message is attached, Some sad news From Andrew Wilson, Robert Wilson’s son, last week.
The Butlers Coffin Dodgers lost one of their most avid and longest serving supporters last week when ‘Big’ Robert Wilson passed away. Robert died on the 3rd of April, a date when, coincidentally, a band of his old shooting partners shared a naustalgic breakfast together in Worcester. Robert was an imposing presence yet a very quietly spoken and gentle man. He always enjoyed his shoots and even when his health was declining and he had to reduce his shooting, he frequently joined us and enjoyed the social intercourse from mixing with his mates on wednesday mornings.
His funeral will take place at Redditch Crematorium, (B97 6RR) on Thursday the 30th of April at 2.45pm. His family have invited his mates from the Coffin Dodgers to his funeral and to a celebration of Robert’s life afterwards at the Westmead Hotel (B48 7AL) on the Redditch Road. If you would like to attend, drop me a line on WhatsApp or Messanger to 07836 367889 so I can advise Andrew of roughly how many of us Dodgers will be there. At the moment, (25.04.26), I have confirmations from myself and 5 other of our band.
