Several modified stands this week. Strangely, none of the new targets tested all of the shooters, however, everyone seemed to have a couple of stands that spoilt their cards.
All but one of the afternoon squad returned a score between 70 and 75. Top scratch score of the day came from Steve Honner who’s newly modified musket stock steadily improved his accuracy as the afternoon progressed. His 75 broken targets beat in-form Jonathan Skelding by a single target. Dave Salter had a similar score of 74 but ended up in third place after handicap adjustment. A quarter of a point decided the top three Handicap results. I dont think I’ve ever seen such close scores.
Tony Gray took the Handicap top spot by just two one hundredths of a point above Len Sandford. Len’s score beat Steve Honner into Handicap Bronze place by less than a quarter of a point. After a couple of good weeks, the morning squad obviously struggled with the new targets. Only Roy managed to beat his average but must have been dissappointed given his marked improvement over the last few weeks.
Here’s hoping we all get better next week.
