A super quality days shooting. Three squads, (1 @ am and 2 @ pm) with 8 of the 11 shooters all beating their Handicap scores. Top scratch scorer was Geoff Pomroy who had missed 5 previous weeks of action due to a balance problem he described as being like severe vertigo. He was both steady and back on form again. He pinched the top spot by breaking 9 on the last stand where the comfortable leader at that point.
Howard Smith, had his only bad stand and lost a 4 point lead by a single target. Great shooting from both shooters. Jonathan Thornton took third place with an excellent 79. Jonathan Skelding chose to bring out his tiny Pump Action .410 again and looks to be setting an improving trend. Full marks for perseverance. I believe that if he stays with the little fellow, it won’t be long before he gets a few spectacular results on his score card.
Back to the big boys. Tony Gray won a very competetive Handicap shoot by beating his average score by almost 8 points and beating the runner up, Jonathan Thornton by over a point. Howard was a point and a half further back to take the Handicap bronze place. Roy Kitchen was top gun from Mike Allen and Drew Beaumont on both scratch and handicap scales during the morning session.
Hope you are all now well recovered from your New Year celebrations. Looking forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
