December 24th. Ground closed today so no scores, but instead, a short review of our first year without the magnificent crew we shot with at Ian Butlers ground for over 20 years.

A few stalwarts have still chosen to share each other’s company and cameraderie at a small selection of midlands shooting grounds, though, since August, I have only seen scores from South Worcester where Trevor Griffiths and I have spent most weeks enjoying, (or suffering) each other’s Company. It is a relatively difficult course compared to the one we have left behind.

Targets are much rangier, (generally farther away), and always a couple of trickier targets to ensure complacency dosn’t sneak in. One or two new squad members have shot with us, but several regular SW team members have hung in there. Those include Paul Stokes, an expert national shot who gives us a shooting lesson at each appearance. His handicap places him 12 points above our second best scorer, Geoff Pomroy, who is still improving and is just 1.5 points above Steve Honner, who sits comfortably in third place on the average scores that are the basis of our handicap system.

I Shall not bore you any longer this year but can I offer all Dodgers, current and previous, a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Best regards, Len.
