A very mixed bag of results last week. A couple of super scores and a few that left a lot of ‘pick ups’ for John.
Top scratch score was recorded by Len, a very modest 72. Once again, the mighty 28b of John Griffiths showed it’s mettle and took scratch runner up spot with 67% kills.Jonathan Skelding took the Bronze position with 64 broken targets. I need to report the final demise of Jonathan’s ‘immaculate’ and almost ‘brand new’ 410 pump action. Despite some very expensive and powerful new shells, the gun failed to cycle properly on the first couple of stands leaving Jon with a borrowed 12b musket for the rest of the shoot. I suspect the 410 has had it’s day.
Top Handicap score was recorded by John G’s 28g who beat his average score by over 8 points. A great result John. Runner up was Roy Kitchen with another fine score, beating his average by over 6 points. Drew took the bronze spot with a good 102% of his average.
Geoff Pomroy has decided to give us mortals a chance to get back on the scoreboard. He is suffering from Labrinthitis at the moment,, a form of Vertigo that is affecting his co-ordination and balance. He is unable to drive and fears his shooting is finished for the next few weeks. He will be badly missed and on behallf of all of us, I hope he recovers soon. PS, Paul Stokes was joint winner of a national CPSA Skeet tournament last month. That will do his chance of an England selection a good boost.
Well done Paul.
Some memories of last year’s Christmas shoot at HWSG.
