A mixed day on the weather front with the first rain in months cutting the day short.
It was great to get Mr Edwards back behind a gun stock once again though his well tuned sense of humour was streets ahead of his poorly rehearsed target finding ability. Top scratch gun was Paul Stokes who put in an amazing score once again, ths time with knobs on! His 95 was his best ever and set a new record high score, beating every other result that I have recorded over the last thirteen years.
Good luck with the England selection trials Paul. Scratch runner up was Steve Honner with 88 broken targets. Geoff Pomroy’s 81 gave him the third place. Len scored his best result this year with a fine 88% on his afternoon shoot but as it followed his (recorded) average morning round, it was not acceptable in the afternoon after what would have been considered an earlier practice round.
Kit Taylor beat all comers to take the Handicap winning spot with a massive 17 target improvement on his average score. A great result Kit. David Gee was less than two targets behind to take the silver medal Handicap position. Alan Bayley took third plce, beating his own average by over 8 targets. The Handicap leaders have set themselves some impressive benchmarks that will take some beating in the future, Good luck with that lads.
