With the exception of the two high driven stands at South Worcester, a totally new layout was presented with some interesting targets. Some good scores in.
It was great to see Paul Stokes back amongst us again for the first time this year. He’s an excellent shooter who always sets the daily standard. There is no lack of attention as he demonstrates how each stand should be shot. His 86 was easily top scratch score of the day. Steve Honner was runner up with an excellent 82 broken clays. My morning’s 79 dusted clays placed me in third place on handicap adjustment after Dave Salter had the same score. Handicap top spot went to John Griffith’s mighty 28g that once again demonstrated that it’s tiny shells, in the right hands, can destroy any target on the ground. Well done John.
Runner up was Jonathan Skelding who bought out one of his pump action 12 bores and beat his average score by 10 points. My 79, eight points better than my average took the third place. Once again a great shoot.
Went to Shane’s new Forhill shoot on Sunday. A super course with some targets that made you think but nothing that couldn’t be broken. I thought he got off to a perfect start and it will be a very successful shoot if can maintain a similar standard into the summer. I noticed he had a very experienced pair of hands helping out as well. Well done Shane and Dave, you did well.
No scores from Wedgnock this week.
