Firstly, a message from Keith. If you are reading this, well done, you found our new home.

Things will be a little rough round the edges until the design is sorted, but this content at least is what most come looking for each week. I shall be working on it extensively over the Christmas break. Thanks for your patience.

December 11th 2024.

Once again, Shane was very kind to us this week, this time with only 2 shooters failing to beat their average scores. Two scores of 68 tied for top Scratch gun with Steve Honnor taking the Gold medal from Len Sandford on handcap performance. Great score Steve. Third place went to Bob Warder with 66 broken targets. Best Handicap performance was taken by the scratch champ, Steve Honner. No one has ever beaten two gold medals Steve!. Handicap runner up was Drew Beaumont, less than a single point behind Steve, with Nigel Jordan in third pace. Great scores all round.

Tony Gray took top spot at South Worcester, breaking 73 targets on a completely new and well thought out layout. Len was a single target behind leaving Jonathan Skelding in Bronze position with 70 broken clays. Once again, Handicap results were a mirror image of the scratch scores.

Christmas shooting competition at Butlers next week with an array of medals for class winners and runner up places. Traditionally, a few stalwart Dodgers have brought an array of tasty treats to help occupy the boring period after the shoot when I log the scores and identify the medal winning combatants. I shall be bringing some still warm, freshly made meat and vegetable Samosas and a large 4lb Pork Pie. I’d suggest the if you are bringing some goodies, let Bob Jordan know on 07799288314. He’s an organiser and can make sure there is an adequate but not overloaded spread. Once again, don’t forget the group photo on the car park at Butlers before the Christmas shoot.

Butlers. Dec 4th

Shane was very kind to us last week with only 3 shooters not beating their annual average. Bob Warder took the scratch topspot, with 71, qualifying for yet another mention on the 70 over 70 shield. (You need to be aged over 70 and have scored over 70 to qualify). Chris Arthur’s 68 marked a return to his best form to take the runner-up spot. Len Sandford was just one target behind and took the third place.

Tremendous handicap scores were returned with Nigel Jordan, one of our longest established Coffin Dodgers, recording a phenomenal 63 which was virtually 17 points better than his average and easily his best score since 2006 when my records began. Amazing shooting Nigel, lets have a few more like this. Drew Beaumont also recorded his best ever score. His 65 beat Nigel’s scratch score but was just a single target behind Nigel on the Handicap scale. Keep it up Drew. Roy Kitchen filled in the third spot in the handicap results with another super score of 58 that topped his average by over 12 points. Great shooting everyone.

South Worcester.

Len surprised himself by scoring an uncharacteristically good 90% at South Worcester to take the scratch top spot. Runner up with another good score was Geoff Pomroy. His 84 equalled his best score of the year. Well shot Geoff. Jonathan Skelding abandoned his quirky new auto and brought out an old faithful which rewarded him with an excellent 82 broken targets that gave him third place on the scratch scorecard. Once again, the scratch positions exactly reflected the Handicap positions. An enjoyable afternoon’s shooting.

Don’t forget the group photo at Butlers for the Christmas shoot.
